Upper & Lower Yellowstone Falls

Upper & Lower Yellowstone falls
Yellowstone National Park

Both of these water falls are spectacular.
I think it's a combination of the falls the grand canyon of Yellowstone and the scenery. That make these two falls what they are.

Both of these falls are worth making the drive to view them. They are very easy to find. Assuming you can read and follow a map. lol If you don' t have a map the easiest way to find the falls would be from canyon village. And then from their just follow the signs. It's hard to miss

I Can't say enough good things about this place. Ok i can't say enough good things about the park in general. lol But this is one my top five favorite places in the park to visit.
For a couple of different reasons. One i like water falls. Two the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is mind blowing. Three their are many trails and viewing areas here. Like Uncle Toms Trail. To name one. Any way i know i am never disapointed or let down when i come here.
So Please and As Always Help Keep Our Park Clean Thank you.

Mammoth Hot Springs

Mammoth Hot Springs
Mammoth Terrace
Yellowstone National Park

Mammoth Hot Springs Is a great place for the whole family.
It is full of history, wildlife, cool rock formations and hot springs.
It is also home to the park head quarters.

You can find Mammoth Hot Springs on any park map.
But just for fun it's located closest to the north entrance. Or between Norris Geyser Basin and Tower Roosevelt. Mammoth Terrace Drive is just a short drive south out of Mammoth Hot Springs Town and Park head quarters. Be Prepared The Terrace Drive is closed from late October until sometime in April. We learned this the hard way last year. OOPS.

Mammoth just like every were else in the park is a very unique place.
When you come to visit I would allow your self's enough time to do some reading and some exploring. This is a very big place. With an almost overwhelming amount of things to see.
I also highly recommend Mammoth Terrace Drive. This Great Drive that will blow every one's mind the first time they travel this road.

Please Remember To Keep our park clean and to help pick up after other more careless visitors.

Tower Water Fall

Tower Water Fall
Yellowstone National Park

Tower Fall is one of my 5 best places in the park to visit. The view of the water fall mixed with wild life land scape and scenery are what make this place so wonderful.

You can find Tower Fall South of Tower Roosevelt. And North of Canyon Village. I've been through here from both directions . And both ways are unreal. Tower village is also a great place to stop and picnic or even camp. The water fall viewing area has a nice gift shop and some food services. There are two different viewing areas for the water fall. The first is the easiest and is just a short walk from the parking area. The second is a hiking trail down closer to the base of the water fall. However the last time i was here sadly. The trail had eroded to the point were the water fall could no longer be seen from the trail.

Tower Roosevelt is such a big area. I have not even begun to do it justice. Their are so many wonderful and special things to see here and on the way here. The road is like no other you have ever been on. That i can promise you. So for these reasons and many others i make it a point to come here every time i visit the park.

And as always please haul out your own trash . And pick up others trash when you can

Grand Prismatic

Grand Prismatic Hot Pool
Yellowstone National Park

Grand Prismatic is the largest Hot Spring in the park.
It is full of colored water and lots of hot colorful steam.
This is one of my favorite places to visit.

You can find Grand Prismatic. In the Midway Geyser Basin. Or if you have the time and the energy. You can Take the Fairy Falls Hiking Trail. The Midway Geyser Basin viewing area is a great easy way to see the Hot Spring. The trail how ever offers a completely different view of the hot spring.
Midway Geyser Basin is located Between Old Faithful and Madison junction.
Or the Fairy Falls Trail. witch starts and ends at Fountain Flat Drive or The Midway Geyser Basin.

I think that anyone who takes the time to go Yellowstone Park. Would be missing one of the best things in the park. If they did not stop and see this amazing Hot Spring.
I stop every time i go. Even if it's just from the viewing area.
The first two pictures are from the Fairy Falls Trail.
The rest are from the viewing area.

Fairy Falls

Fairy Falls
Yellowstone National Park

Fairy Falls is 200 foot water fall. That comes right off the top of a plateau.

Their are a couple of different ways to get to the falls. The easiest way is from the midway geyser basin. Or from fountain flat drive. Both ways are beautiful. But fountain flat drive is a much longer hike. Both of these trails are bicycle trails also. It also offers a view of grand prismatic that can't be seen any other way.
And it passes right along goose lake. Witch is on the map but you can not see from the road. The trail also reminds me of the fires that swept through park. You can see for miles and miles all of the burnt timber. But you can also see miles and miles of new life. It is an amazing cycle for sure.

So if you have the time and the energy. I think this is a great trail for just about any body.
The lake and the back side of grand prismatic. Are also the first things you see on the trail.
I know i will be back in the spring.
This is a wonderful place so please remember to haul out your trash and please pick up after other people. If we all do this we can insure the beauty of the park for years to come.

Uncle Toms Trail

Uncle Toms Trail
Yellowstone National Park.

Uncle Toms Trail is a long steep trail.
That Drops in to the grand canyon of Yellowstone.
This is a great place to view the lower falls from.

The Trail head is easy to find. Like most trails in the park it is well marked. The best way to find the uncle toms trail. Is to drive to Artist Point. You will see the signs for the trail once you cross the river.

This Trail is long and steep it will take you at least an hour. If your in good shape. So you may want to plan a little extra time. And take water and snacks.
This is one of my favorite trails in the park. because it's kinda off the beaten path. And it's a more intermediate to advanced hike you usually don't see allot of people here.

Gibbon Falls

Gibbon Water Fall
Yellow Stone National Park.

Gibbon Falls is Awesome.
It is one of the first waterfalls you come to in the park.
If you come in through west Yellowstone and turn the right way. It has a drop of 84 feet.
You can find Gibbon falls between Madison junction and Norris geyser basin.

These are all pictures of the falls from different trips i have taken.
It is amazing how much more or less water passes over the falls.
Spring verses winter. I always make it a point to try and stop and view these falls.
